Arranged for Langley Band’s “Black by Day, Red by Night” Wychavon 2025 set, Hampton Lullaby takes a short 30 second lullaby composed by Michael Raven and expands it to cornet solo with minimal backing.
Effective percussion and quintet accompaniment give gentle accompaniment to the slow melody until a full band climax in the middle.
Michael Raven was a musician who lived and workin in the Black Country. His long-time collaborator Joan Mills kindly gave permission for use of Michael’s work as he sadly passed away in 2008.
